About XCuts
XCuts is a small, free, open-source browser extension that adds the shortcuts X.com is missing: one-click scheduling, AI drafting help, and a distraction-free focus mode — all without an account, a server, or any tracking.
Why it exists
It started as a personal script to stop fumbling X's native schedule date-picker every time a post needed to go out later. A couple of "N hours from now" buttons turned into a small toolkit: a multi-timezone preview so you can see how a time lands for readers in different regions, an optional AI pass to tighten up a draft, and a focus mode that hides the feed when you just want to write.
How it works
- One-click "hours from now" scheduling (1H–12H) that drives X's own native schedule modal — no separate scheduling backend.
- Multi-timezone preview: local time, US Eastern, and UK London, plus a randomize-minutes option (±5) to avoid posting at the exact same minute every time.
- AI tweet enhancement powered by your own OpenAI API key — your key and drafts go straight from your browser to OpenAI, never through us.
- A focus mode that hides the feed so composing a post doesn't turn into a scrolling session.
- Light and dark themes, and support for both Chrome and Safari.
Privacy by construction
There's no account to create and no server to talk to. Settings and your OpenAI API key are stored locally in your browser and never sent to us. Nothing about how you use XCuts is collected or tracked.
Open source
XCuts is free and open source. The code, issue tracker, and releases all live on GitHub.
